Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to, budgeting, training, directing, purchasing, inventory monitor, scheduling, transportation, hiring, evaluating Coaches and physical education teachers, counseling students, securing officials, writing and implementing policy, writing college recommendations, organizing annual sports banquet, representing Wooster at more than 15 league meetings per year, coordinating school van use and licensing, web page content, oversee all afternoon activity sign-ups, oversee all aspects of gym and field use, teaching physical education classes, overseeing the K-12 physical education program, lining fields, retention efforts, attraction efforts, seasonal athletic schedules, attend and present at multiple school events such as Open Houses, Board of Trustee meetings, attend weekly meetings such as Leadership Team, faculty, and department, prep special events in the gymnasiums, daily updating of the athletic hotline phone number, daily supervision of two jobs period workers, coordinate the annual Athletic Hall of Fame efforts, and respond within 24 hours to all emails and phone calls.

Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to: preventing, recognizing, evaluating, managing, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries; Communicating the type and severity of injury with parents, coaches, players, teachers, and the school nurse and outline any limitations the student may have as a result of injury; Work as a gatekeeper to ensure student-athletes are returned to the playing field and in some cases the classroom in a safe and efficient manner after providing appropriate functional test-outs; Provide and replenish, as needed medical kits, ice chests, and water bottles to all athletic teams; Coordinate with the school nurse to ensure all students have appropriate medical forms on file with the school nurse; Oversee the after school weightlifting activity faculty member to ensure proper resistance training techniques are being implemented; (As the strength and conditioning coach) Design and implement resistance training programs for our student-athletes; Teach physical education classes to Lower and Middle School students; Attend all department and divisional meetings as needed; Answer all phone calls and/or emails within 24 hour time period.
